Cinco de Mayo Themed Summer Season Kick-Off: May 5th
Join us for an evening of fun and excitement at our first Cinco de Mayo Summer Season Kick-Off! This event will be held on May 5th (Thursday) and will feature a Cinco de Mayo theme with Mexican games for children and adults, Mexican food, frozen non-alcoholic drinks, WRIF DJ & Rock Girls, car show, door prize drawings and an engine build demonstration. Please note that no drivers will be attending this event.
This is the first of four summer events that will be held for the 2011 season. Open House Cruise-in events will be held on May 5th, June 16th, August 18th and September 15th at our Livonia, MI facility. All of our open house events are open to the public and free to get in.
For the kids there will be pull piñatas, authentic Mexican bingo, and other fun activities. The adults can saddle up and test their riding time on a mechanical bull, play a game of pin the tail on the donkey, and much more! Qdoba will be on site giving out free Mexican food and an outside vender will be selling frozen non-alcoholic drinks.
Detroit’s 101 the WRIF will be on location from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with DJ, Anne Carlini and the eight WRIF Rock Girl Finalists. Meet the girls & cast your vote for who should advance to the final four! Rock out with WRIF and test your Guitar Hero™ playing skills. Are you already an expert? Show off in front of a live audience. Here is your chance to prove you can rock! Participate in several “Manly” games and to receive a WRIF Man Card. Get entered for the chance to be at the front of the line for the ROUSH June Autograph Session. *Disclaimer: One does not technically need to be a man to get a “WRIF Man Card”. One must simply appreciate & uphold all things “Manly”.
WRIF will be hosting a car show during our May Open House. Cruisers are invited to enter their classic and special interest vehicles for a chance to win a trophy. Walk-ins are welcome the day of the event. If you would like to pre-register for the car show please visit WWW.WRIF.COM and sign up to become a CyberCrew member and join the WRIF Muscle Car Club. There is no charge to join and registration for the car show is free. The car show will officially begin at 5:00 pm and will run until 7:00 pm.
During our open house, register for a chance at our door prize give-away. Drawings will be held at 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Contestants must be present to win. Door prize give-aways include a chance to win a Carl Edwards signed victory lane hat, David Ragan signed race car window & UPS mug, Greg Biffle signed Flag, Roush Racing 3 piece or 6 piece BBQ set and an autographed Matt Kenseth signed victory lane hat!
A two man crew from the Roush Engine Build Department will demonstrate a complete engine build-up, including a live test run upon completion.
A selection of authentic race car parts will be available for purchase. Treasure hunters will find race car body panels from the NASCAR series Roush Fenway Teams, race driven tires, signed race windows, pedals and more. ROUSH Fenway race tires are available for purchase for only twenty dollars a piece! The ROUSH Retail Store will be open from 9:30 am – 8:00 pm on May 5th 2011.
